GREENFIELD CENTER — What do you get when you combine Italian wines, cheeses and specialty foods with galloping horses? The “Made In Italy Excellence Cup” event at Saratoga Polo.
The 5 p.m. event this Sunday will include tastings of wines and foods, presented in partnership with the Italian Trade Commission and the Saratoga Wine & Food and Fall Ferrari Festival — which will be held September 9-11 — as well as, of course, a polo match.

At halftime of the match, the noted mezzo soprano Lucille Beer will perform.
She has appeared with the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera, and frequently performs in oratorio as well as an array of symphonic repertoire with leading symphony orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the St. Louis Symphony, the Houston Symphony and the National Symphony.
5:30 p.m. -– Polo match.
6 p.m. — Lucille Beer’s performance.
6:46 p.m. — Polo match resumes.
7:30 p.m. — Match ends.
7:30 p.m. — Toast of Italy.
7:45 p.m. — Presentation of “Made in Italy Excellence Cup” by The Italian Trade Commission.
The Saratoga Polo clubhouse and polo field is located at 2 Bloomfield Road in Greenfield Center. Tickets are $20 for SPAC members, $25 for all others, and are available online.
