Local watering holes often have a drinks special or two that complements the season. Chains tend to do it up a lot bigger.
The latest example is at T.G.I. Friday’s, which has just introduced a new line of summer cocktails.
The newbies (prices may vary slightly by location):
• Tiki Torch: A spicy margarita using tequila, muddled pineapple, triple sec, lime, chipotle-pineapple syrup, served in a glass rimmed with kosher salt, sugar and blackening seasoning. Average price: $8.50.
• Fresh Watermelon Mojito: Mint and watermelon lightly muddled and shaken with lime-infused rum, agave nectar and lime juice, topped with soda and garnished with two watermelon cubes and a mint sprig. Average price: $8.25.
• Blackberry Long Island Tea: Premium gin, rum, vodka, triple sec and black raspberry liqueur, along with blackberries and house-made sour mix, topped with lemon lime soda. Average price: $8.
• Strawberry Rum Smash: Rum, muddled strawberries, mint, lemon juice and agave nectar, garnished with lemon, mint and strawberry. Average price: $9.
