The event, which touches off “Riesling Month” throughout the state, will involve the entire Center with facility tours, tastings of Rieslings and other New York State wines, sampling of foods that pair with Rieslings and are grown or otherwise produced in the state, plus live music to set the mood.
More than half the participating wineries will be represented by their winemakers or owners, offering guests an opportunity to meet several industry leaders in one location. In addition, the tasting will be one of the first occasions to taste 2009 vintage Rieslings. A special “Riesling Demonstration & Dinner,” featuring television chef William Cornelius, will take place in the Center’s Wine Spectator Educational Theater during the event.
“Rendezvous with Riesling” is open to the public. Tickets are $45 per person. Seating is limited for the formal events on the agenda, and all attendees must be 21 or older with a photo ID. Reservations may be made by phone at (585) 394-7070 or online. The Center is located lakeside at 800 Main Street, downtown.
