Brown’s Brewing planning a (wait for it) pignic

19 May

TROY, NY — Brown’s Brewing will host what it hopes will become an annual event when the first Club Brown’s Mug Club Pignic Dinner.

That’s no typo. “Pignic” is the centerpiece of the Sunday, June 27, event at neighboring Revolution Hall on River Street in Troy.

The 4 to 8 p.m. schedule includes a “West Hoosick-style spittin’ pig roast,” a “volunteer fire department-like chicken barbecue,” and the traditional sides such as corn on the cob, grilled veggies, potatoes, cornbread, watermelon, and “ridiculous amounts of pie.”

Of course, the event wouldn’t get mention on this blog if beverages weren’t involved. In addition to a full cash bar featuring Brown’s own brews, Mug Club members will receive two 10-ounce beers at no extra charge.

Tickets are $32 each, which includes dinner, tax and tip. Beer extra. Reservations are required by Tuesday, June 22, by calling (518) 273-2337 or signing up in person at the Brown’s bar or host desk.
