SAGAPONACK, LONG ISLAND, NY — By the time you finish packing up the suitcases, the swimsuits, the kids’ toys, your golf clubs and everything else deemed necessary for a family vacation getaway, it’s tough to find a place for a bottle or two.
Fear not. The Wall Street Journal, now that it is owned by Rupert Murdoch and a lot more fun to read, reports that a 5,000-bottle wine cellar has been added to a summer rental in The Hamptons.
Each year the owner adds an amenity to entice renters to his 8,300-square-foot house situated on 1.3 acres of Long Island’s most expensive land. The house has 8 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces, an infinity pool, a sauna, a game room, a media room with theater seating but, curiously, only a two-car garage.
