ROTTERDAM, NY — A new $4.5 million economic development plan for this Schenectady County town was announced today by Susan Savage, chairperson of the Schenectady County Legislature. Its centerpiece is the latest Recovery Sports Grill.
The locally-owned mini-chain, which already has Upstate locations in Troy, Albany, Colonie, Amsterdam and Verona as well as Westampton, NJ, and Norfolk, VA, will go up where the threadbare Capitol Plaza will be torn down at Altamont Avenue and Curry Road, a heavily-traveled intersection.
The 6,200-square-foot sports-themed pub/restaurant will be built by Columbia Development along with its parent firms BBL Construction and BBL Hospitality.
The project is targeted for a fast turnaround. restaurant. Mark Goldstein, director of real estate for Columbia Development, explained:
“Today’s tenants need to move more quickly then in the past. Because everything happens right now in this world. In order to take advantage of today’s market, today’s prices and today’s financial opportunities. You can’t take two years to plan things out.”
