SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Gift of Life is more than just the name of a Rotary International-affiliated organization.
The Gift of Life began in the 1970s on Long Island to raise funds for life-giving medical treatment for children from other countries where such care is not available. Since then, other chapters have been established, including one in the Capital Region/District 7190, and pairs up the children and the medical facilities. For example, numerous pediatric cardiology procedures have been successfully done at Albany Medical Center.
On Friday, August 20, for the first time, the Gift of Life Foundation will hold a cocktail reception and silent auction fundraiser at the famed Fasig-Tipton facility’s Man O’ War Terrace in Saratoga Springs to support the medical philanthropy.
Drinks, food and live music will be included from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $200 individually or $350 for couples for non-Rotarians, or $150 and $300 for Rotarians.
For credit card purchases, call Audrey Harding at (516) 642-5295. For mail orders, checks made payable to Gift of Life should be sent to NYRA, P.O. Box 90, Jamaica, NY 11417.
