Corning music fest to showcase state-made beverages

10 Aug

CORNING, NY — Anyone who enjoys live jazz and blues along with the possibility of sampling New York-made wines, cider and beers should circle September 10-11 on their calendars. Those are the dates of the 15th annual Jazz & Harvest Festival scheduled for the city’s Gaffer District.

On Friday, September 10, the schedule calls for live music performances throughout the District, beverage tastings and complimentary limousine shuttles. On Saturday, children’s activities, hayrides, eating contests, a scarecrow competition and a farmers market are planned.

At the Friday night wine and beer tastings, attendees 21 or older will be able to participate by visiting one of three checkpoints — Centerway Square, Radisson Hotel Corning or The Site Cyber Bar and Grill. A picture ID will be required. Participation costs $15 per person and includes a collectible wine glass and beer glass.

Full details on the music events are available online.
