The festival, to be held in the Meatpacking District of lower Manhattan, will run during the Columbus Day weekend, October 7-10. All net proceeds will benefit the Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength.
The Meatpacking District is home to more than 160 restaurants and shops. It is located between 12th and 16th streets and west of 8th Avenue.
Returning events will include a major walk-around wine and food tasting event, “Cooking Channel’s Meatpacking Uncorked.”
An addition to the event lineup this year will be “Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink at Norwood.” It will feature a multi-storied brunch experience with Michael Schwartz, a James Beard Foundation Award winner, and pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith from Miami and Sunset Stone Crab at the Hotel Gansevoort rooftop.
Among other additions:
• “DeBragga at Dusk,” which will showcase six well-known Manhattan chefs: Daniel Boulud, Terrance Brennan, Tom Colicchio, Michael Lomonaco, Alfred Portale, and Laurent Touronde. They will cook alongside meat producers from Niman Ranch, South Shore Farms and Joyce Farms.
• “Master Cooking Classes,” which will be led by Food Network celebrity chefs Masaharu Morimoto and Alex Guarnaschelli, and held in the kitchens of the chefs’ restaurants. The classes will feature small-group, hands-on sessions and a behind-the-scenes look at what happens on the line.
• “Breville’s Ultimate Sandwich Showdown,” with TV chef Tyler Florence emceeing a competition among several restaurants.
