‘The Summer of Lieb’ on Long Island

MATTITUCK, LONG ISLAND, NY — If you haven’t taken advantage of the ongoing August celebration of Lieb Family Cellars‘ 10th anniversary, time is running out.

In addition to running a series of freebies and specials, Lieb has released its 2009 Rosé, its first such release since 2007. The new vintage is made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and 18% Pinot Blanc grapes.

Among the ongoing attractions:

Merlot Mondays — Complimentary tastings of white merlot and red merlot.

Tasting Tuesdays — All wine tasting flights are 50% off.

Wine-down Wednesdays — Purchase one bottle of wine, receive 30% off the second bottle of equal or lesser value.

T-shirt Thursdays — Receive a free “Summer of Lieb” — “lieb” is the German word for “love” — shirt with the purchase of four or more bottles of wine.

Fromage Fridays — Open late (till 7 p.m.) with complimentary wine and cheese pairings.

Sparkling Saturdays — Complimentary tasting of sparkling wines paired with fresh fruit.

Sangria Sundays — Buy one, get one glasses of red and white sangria.
