The venue is The Altman Building located at 135 West 18th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood. It is an official New York City Landmark building, built in 1896 as the carriage house for the famous B. Altman department store.

B. Altman & Company was founded in 1865 by Benjamin Altman. It officially closed on December 31, 1989, vacating its block-long flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Midtown. It was one of the first American department stores with out-of-town branches, operating stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey and on Long Island.
