All aboard for an Adirondacks beer run

23 Sep

NORTH CREEK, NY — Autumn foliage is an annual drawing card for people who have never visited the North Country of Upstate New York. Now, there’s an additional reason: “Ales On Rails.”

The event this Saturday will provide a scenic two-hour train ride, leaving from the Upper Hudson River Railroad station in this Warren County village, during which riders will get up-close views of the Adirondacks along with samples of five different Dogfish Head Brewery brews, and assorted appetizers.

The beers from the Delaware brewery — odd that the trip doesn’t feature New York State craft beers — will include 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, 120 Minute IPA and others.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m., with the event at 5. Reservations are $40 each: (518) 925-5966.
