• Bread, wine & cheese fest at Hudson-Chatham

16 Nov

GHENT, NY — There are few better basic combinations than bread, wine and cheese, so the Hudson-Chatham Winery has turned the combination into a festival.

This Saturday, November 20, from noon to 5 p.m., the facility will hold its annual “Bread, Wine & Cheese Festival” that brings together local cheesemakers, bakers, and purveyors of other Hudson Valley food items. In addition to the host winery’s products this year the spread has broadened and now includes:

100% natural juices and confections from Micosta
Maple syrups
Larry’s Southwestern sauces
Organic nuts
Handmade herbed butters
Hudson Valley foie gras and duck salami
Seyval Blanc mustard
Beth’s Farm Kitchen chutneys
Black currant caviar

Cheeses from a variety of creameries will be offered, including:

Twin Maple
Amazing Real Live Food Company
Old Chatham Sheepherding Company
Coach Farm
Sprout Creek
Nettle Meadow
Beekman Farm
Hudson-Chatham cheddars, spreads, and dip

There is no charge for admission. A wine tasting is $5. All foods will be sampled and sold through their respective representatives, as at a farmers’ market. The winery is located at 1900 Route 66 in Columbia County, about midway between Chatham and Hudson. Phone: (518) 392-9463.
