The event, set for Sunday, January 16, at the Lincoln Park Jewish Center, coincides with the traditional Scottish event, the Burns Night Supper, celebrating both whisky and the renowned Scottish poet. It will begin with an hour of open bar and passed hors d’oeurves, followed in Burns tradition by the welcoming speech and the entrance of the haggis, that mystical melange of various ingredients baked inside a sheep’s stomach.
A five-course glatt kosher whisky-pairing menu will be served. Among the distilleries signed up:
- Port Ellen
- Caol Illa
- Dallas Dhu
- Highland Park
- Four Roses
- Maple Hill
Reservations are available by calling (917) 584-2310 or going online here. Price is $150 per person. There is no guarantee of admission without an advance registration. If space is available, tickets at the door are $180 per person. The Lincoln Park Jewish Center is located at 311 Central Park Avenue.
