• New Astor Place wine bar plans pairing event

08 Feb

NEW YORK — bahr | che, a new Astor Place contemporary wine bar, may not have much in the way of capital letters, but it does have a wine wall displaying 1,500 bottles of wines from all over the world. It also has an event this week to get its name in front of the public.

A wine and cheese pairing event, with a half-dozen reds and whites and a half-dozen cheeses, is scheduled for this Thursday, February 10. Event reservations required: (212) 260-2220. Elizabeth Chabbuck, the cheese expert from Murray’s cheese, and August Mustardo, a partner at Verity Wine Partners, will lead the tasting and explain pairing techniques.

bahr |che is located on the ground floor in the Gwathmey Sigel apartment building at 26 Astor Place, entrance on Cooper Square.
