• Kosher Whisky Festival coming up

25 Feb

NEW YORK — The next Kosher Whisky Festival is nearly upon us. The event, set for Sunday, March 6, will be held in the newly renovated ballroom of the West Side Institutional Synagogue.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with an hour of passed hors d’oeurves and an open bar featuring an array of single malt whiskies from around the world. That will be followed by a five-course glatt kosher whisky-pairing menu created by whisky enthusiasts Ari and Gemma White of Gemstone Catering.

Among the whiskies scheduled to be available are Port Ellen, Highland Park, Four Roses, Maple Hill, Caol Illa, Ardbeg, Glenrothes, Glenburgie and Edradour.

Admission is $150 per person in advance, or $180 at the door. Reservations may be made online or by calling Gemstone at (917) 584-2310.

The West Side Institutional is located at 120 West 76th Street.
