If you want to get away from the rain this weekend and do something different, you may be in luck. The U.S. Weather Service says the rain will be moving out and the Hudson Berkshire Beverage Trail members say they will hold a “Strawberry Fields Sip ‘n’ Savor” event from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Participating Trail members include Brookview Station Winery in Castleton, Chatham Brewing in Chatham, Harvest Spirits in Valatie, Hudson-Chatham Winery in Ghent, Tousey Winery in Germantown, and Furnace brook Winery in Richmond, MA.
Each of the participating venues will offer a special treat featuring strawberries. For example, chocolate-covered strawberries at Furnace Brook Winery, strawberry Jell-O shots at Harvest Spirits, strawberry tartlets topped with wine-laced cream at Brookview Station Winery, and strawberries marinated in rose wine topped with mascarpone cream at Tousey. In addition, there will be live music at the Hudson-Chatham Winery with Doug Markus on bass.
Guests may purchase a Trail Passport for $15 per person ($5 for a designated driver) at any of the locations to begin the tour. As they travel the Trail, the passport is presented at each location to receive the special tasting and strawberry treat. Passports will be available for sale on the day of the event at all of the venues.
