The wine was produced, according to the folks at Lakewood, “using a unique method developed by our winemaker. In late August we de-barreled and bottled a scant 84 cases.”
It is labeled as “Reserve Cabernet Franc,” and is being sold only at the winery, located at 4024 State Route 14.
The Lakewood crew is remaining rather tight-lipped about the particulars of the experimental wine. However, “It is, by design, unlike any Cabernet Franc you have ever tasted” says Chris Stamp. ” … You won’t find it on our tasting sheet or any store shelf, but if you ask one of our wonderful serves, they will probably slip you a taste from the hidden stash.”
